In addition to a base salary, our business development position includes an uncapped commission component, so you are in control of your overall compensation.


As the Premier Commercial Financing Company within the small ticket market, Marlin is currently operating under a business strategy to grow and expand.


Position Summary

This is a professional sales position, which requires developing and managing a portfolio of customers in the B2B space. Your goal is to prospect and acquire new customers, as well as grow the activity levels of your current customer relationships. Our approach is to be “consultative” and help our customer’s grow their business by taking advantage of the benefits of commercial financing using telephone solicitation, targeted outside visits, and attendance of industry trade shows. A very professional and customer service oriented approach is both important and required. Marlin will provide extensive training and support to help you succeed. What the business development manager needs to provide is the desire to be successful and a dedicated effort.


Essential functions:

  • Call on new sales leads to build relationships and generate sales
  • Grow existing business accounts through consultative selling
  • Manage vendor relationships on an ongoing basis
  • Develop and maintain accurate data in client database
  • Prepare documentation for all lease contracts
  • Handle incoming business from sales prospects
  • Achieve monthly sales volume and account management quotas


Position Qualifications:


  • 4+ years of sales experience
  • Self-driven with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • A drive and desire to achieve high compensation
  • Customer service focus and a professional approach to building B2B relationships.
  • Leasing related experience a huge plus
  • Undergraduate degree preferred
