Marlin Business Services is seeking a Sr. Credit Analyst to accurately and efficiently underwrite, qualify, and monitor equipment vendors in a fast paced and high volume sales environment. Qualified candidates must be energetic, detailed oriented with strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, along with the ability to work independently in a team setting.


  • Responsible for qualifying and onboarding new equipment vendors through the analysis of commercial bureau reports (i.e. Dun and Bradstreet, Experian Business, Paynet), consumer reports (i.e. Experian, Trans Union, Equifax), financial data, and additional information found through other resources and lenders, such as website, references, etc.
    Research and examine vendor credit risks, assess vendor credit history and express reasons for support (or denial) of credit request
  • Responsible for conducting on-going verification and regular tracking of origination quality through periodic review of vendor reports, analysis of commercial or financial information, collateral performance, etc.
  • Qualify new vendor programs and opportunities as requested by Sales Management.
  • Ability to lead, conduct and participate in or meetings with key leaders in the organization to ensure all departments are in compliance with Vendor program requirements.
  • Provide ongoing reporting to monitor vendor performance and proactively provide recommendations to management regarding process changes or enhancements.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to management on vendor trends, vendor or collateral risks, vendor program performance, etc.
  • Conduct external research on additional vendor related risks analysis with recommendations for credit policy adjustments as deemed necessary.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by Management.


  • Bachelor Degree required in related field.
  • Three to Five years previous Sr. Credit Analyst experience.
    Ability to analyze financial conditions, financial statements and tax returns preferred.
  • Ability to understand collateral risks, business relationships and business entity structures and their effect on vendor portfolio performance.
  • Knowledge of business lending with specific knowledge of Equipment.
  • Leasing preferred Excellent PC and computer literacy skills required to include MS Office applications including Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookup etc.).
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and/or financial software.
    Self-motivated and detailed oriented with strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
