    Position Summary

    To support our efforts to grow originations in line with our corporate strategy. Your goal is to develop relationships with existing and prospective Marlin small business customers and provide them with additional capital to finance the growth of their businesses. We take a consultative approach to help our customers grow their business by teaching them the benefits of commercial financing using telephone/email communication.  We win their trust by providing an exceptional customer experience and expedient execution of transactions. A very professional and customer service oriented approach is both important and required. Marlin will provide extensive training and support to help you succeed. What the Business Development Representative needs to provide is the desire to be successful and the ability to perform in a vigorous and passionate environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Make outbound sales calls to brokers or dealers to promote Marlin finance programs
    • Close broker or dealer relationships and generate new sales within a program
    • Build strong relationships with Business Development Managers on the team
    • Assist and grow existing business accounts through consultative selling
    • Assist in managing broker or vendor relationships on an ongoing basis
    • Develop and maintain accurate data in client database
    • Handle incoming business (calls/emails) from sales leads
    • Achieve monthly sales volume and Business Development team quotas
    • Interdepartmental communication, particularly with credit and operations teams
    • Assume job responsibilities for sales representatives when they are out of the office, acting as the primary backup to the BD Managers
    • Assist in the process of applications, documentation, and funding for sales representatives
    • Liaison between sales representatives, internal support departments and our customers
    • Develop a good understanding of all the programs on the team

    Qualifications

    • 1+ Year of sales experience preferred
    • Customer service focus and a professional approach to building B2B relationships.
    • Self-driven with an entrepreneurial spirit
    • A drive and desire to achieve high compensation
    • Support/Leasing related experience preferred
    • Undergraduate degree preferred
