    The Website Content Manager is a new role within the marketing department, responsible for managing all of Marlin’s websites, landing pages and social media pages. You will ensure that our websites are simple to navigate, contain compelling content and are optimized for SEO, communicate clearly to different users and drive engagement and action. You will also manage Marlin’s content strategy including creating the editorial calendar for blogs, whitepapers & videos and distribution of content through social media. This role will be involved in a broad range of activities, including managing digital assets, creating site pages/ landing pages, enhancing site content, and running our ongoing testing and optimization efforts.  This is an individual contributor role which requires in-depth technical knowledge as well as exceptional writing & communication skills.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage all of Marlin’s websites and landing pages in our WordPress CMS
    • Collaborate with marketing, design and technical teams to plan and develop site content, style and layout and implement SEO best practices throughout the site
    • Create website content describing our products and services, including FAQ’s and guides
    • Work with web developers to design, develop and deploy new CMS templates for landing pages, forms and other content pages
    • Use relevant tools to analyze website traffic and user engagement metrics and optimize user experience
    • Provide input on content strategy, as well as create and publish engaging content aligned with short-term and long-term marketing targets
    • Manage content distribution to online channels and social media platforms to increase web traffic
    • Develop an editorial calendar and ensure content team is on board
    • Stay up-to-date with digital marketing strategies and trends and consistently generate new ideas to draw audience’s attention
    • Manage the day-to-day site and system issues, including revisions, identifying quick win opportunities and filing requests for bug resolutions

    Qualifications

    • 2-4 years of experience as a Content Editor and Website Manager
    • Expert knowledge of WordPress (or similar CMS) and website administration (creating new pages using CMS templates; using WordPress plug-ins for SEO
    • Knowledge of SEO and website analytics, experience with, site optimization tools, methods and site testing
    • Excellent communication skills, especially written communication and editing skills. Comfortable interacting with technical and non-technical individuals
    • Familiarity with social media & content marketing
    • Innovative thinker and creative problem solver with strong project management skills

    Key Differentiators

    • Basic knowledge of HTML and technical SEO
    • Prior experience with website redesign / relaunch
    • Experience with marketing to small businesses
    • Experience with Marketo, HubSpot or other marketing automation platforms
    • Experience with visual design tools like Photoshop
    • Experience with display and social media marketing

    Education

    • BA/BS degree in Journalism, Marketing, Computer Science or relevant field
