    Position Summary

    To support our efforts to grow originations in line with our corporate strategy. Your goal is to develop relationships with existing and prospective Marlin small business customers and provide them with additional capital to finance the growth of their businesses. We take a consultative approach to help our customers grow their business by teaching them the benefits of commercial financing using telephone/email communication.  We win their trust by providing an exceptional customer experience and expedient execution of transactions. A very professional and customer service-oriented approach is both important and required. Marlin will provide extensive training and support to help you succeed. What the Business Development Representative needs to provide is the desire to be successful and the ability to perform in a vigorous and passionate environment. 

     

    In addition to a base salary, our Account Analyst position includes a quarterly bonus component that is based on achieving and exceeding team initiatives, so you are in control of your overall compensation.

    Responsibilities

    • Make outbound sales calls to partners to assist in closing their backlog of approvals and proactive solicitation of new business
    • Support the partner relationships of assigned Senior Business Development Managers, creating a strong day to day sales presence with assigned partners
    • Grow existing business accounts through consultative selling
    • Manage and optimize partner relationships
    • Develop and maintain accurate data in Salesforce
    • Independently handle incoming business (calls/emails) from sales leads
    • Achieve monthly sales volume and Business Development team quotas
    • Collaborate with Credit, CMS and Operations colleagues to facilitate and optimize deal flow
    • Assume job responsibilities for sales representatives when they are out of the office, acting as the primary backup to the Senior BD Managers
    • Facilitate the processing of applications, documentation and funding of transactions
    • Liaison between sales representatives, internal support departments and our customers
    • Mentor Account Specialists to develop an understanding of programs and Marlin processes

    Qualifications

    • 3+ Years of sales or sales support experience preferred
    • Small ticket equipment leasing industry experience preferred
    • Ability to manage dealer relationships on a day to day business without the presence of the Sr BD Manager.
    • Customer service focus and a professional approach to building B2B relationships.
    • Self-driven with an entrepreneurial spirit
    • Support/Leasing related experience required
    • Undergraduate degree preferred
