    Position Summary

    To support our efforts to grow originations in line with our corporate strategy. Your goal is to develop relationships with existing and prospective Marlin small business customers and provide them with additional capital to finance the growth of their businesses. We take a consultative approach to help our customers grow their business by teaching them the benefits of commercial financing using telephone/email communication.  We win their trust by providing an exceptional customer experience and expedient execution of transactions. A very professional and customer service oriented approach is both important and required. Marlin will provide extensive training and support to help you succeed. What the Business Development Manager needs to provide is the desire to be successful and the ability to perform in a vigorous and passionate environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Prospect, acquire, and onboard new equipment dealers, primarily in the Office Furniture and HVAC/R market, with the objective of building relationships and generating sales.
    • Achieve a minimum of 40-50 outbound calls daily
    • Excellent negotiating and closing skills with ability to develop an assigned territory and build strong relationships.
    • Develop and maintain accurate data in client database
    • Deliver professional presentations to prospective customers on how to use financing to sell more equipment, and grow their business, primarily through webinars
    • Willing to occasionally travel as needed to train, support and acquire customers at industry tradeshows, open-house, dealer meetings or customer buying events
    • Have a clear understanding of finance and lease transactions with the ability to discuss those transactions with appropriate dealer personnel or any other party.
    • Interface with our credit department and gather additional credit info to assist with end-user applications
    • Interface with Dealers and End-Users to provide pricing, benefits, promotions, and answer questions
    • Achieve monthly sales volume, profitability and account management goals

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of sales experience
    • Self-driven with an entrepreneurial spirit
    • Inside sales experience in an outbound call environment preferred
    • A drive and desire to achieve high compensation
    • Customer service focus and a professional approach to building B2B relationships.
    • Leasing and financing related experience a huge plus
    • Undergraduate degree preferred

     

    Skills/Abilities:

    • Self-motivated with ability to function independently.
    • Polished and professional presentation skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to cold call, as well as ask for referrals and recommendations to warm-up leads.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Sales Force
